UPDATE: Blessings For Bigga

UPDATE Feb. 10, 2012: Bigga had her surgery today and is doing well. Unfortunately, the toggle bolt they had hoped to put in her hip was not possible, there was too much damaged cartilage in her hip. They performed the FHO surgery instead. The Vet and R.J. were under the impression she may have been hit by a car soon after her escape from the break in, and since she went so long on it injured, there was too much damage already done. There is much peace though in knowing that all surgical options were explored and that R.J. had tried to do the surgery he thought would be best for Bigga. Thank you for those who helped out through donations! The ChipIn link is still open if you wish to contribute and hadn't had the chance yet. They would be very grateful!

UPDATE Feb. 8, 2012: Here the latest update on Bigga's situation. Bigga is having surgery on Friday morning, Feb. 10, 2012. The procedure will be to hopefully put a toggle bolt through her leg bone and into the hip socket. This toggle will act as a ligament to replace the torn ligament which has been destroyed. This is a different procedure than the original 'FHO' but if successful would be a more natural result. There is about an eighty percent chance of success. There is a possibility that the toggle bolt might not be an option once they have her cut open due to the length of time that her hip has been out of joint in which case she would have to have the FHO.

You can read Bigga and R.J.'s full story here, or make a contribution at the link below. WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING DONATIONS! Please consider giving, even just a couple of dollars. This will help greatly in covering this expensive $2,300 procedure, as R.J. continues to recover from his loss, due to theft! A BIG thank you to those who have already donated!

To Contribute: Click on the ChipIn link above. Next, type in the amount you want to donate, then click 'update' to reflect you contribution. Lastly, complete your contribution by filling in the required information by using your existing Paypal account, or by using your credit/debit card. Please Note: When you go to the Paypal page, to contribute, it will read as "River Water Catering". In order to get the ChipIn account set up quickly and efficiently for Bigga, the family used a Paypal account that they already had set up, under their business name, verses waiting to set up a new one. All proceeds have been designated to a fund for Bigga. I didn't want this to confuse or alarm you :)
