DIY: Using Sunday Comics for Gift Wrapping

I hate to buy wrapping paper. Period. All I see are dollar signs, when I watch it get ripped apart. Now I admit, some occasions warrant nice wrapping paper. But, when it comes to children's birthdays (and even some adults!), I found a fun approach! I simply take my Sunday paper comics section and save them each week. When a gift is to be given, I use it as wrapping paper! If you have a larger item, which puts the newspaper seam down the middle of your gift, just hide it with a thick ribbon. Otherwise, try to center the gift as best as you can. The kids seem to adore it, and love reading them, before they open it.
