What a Week! Amusing Tidbits of My Life

Well, this week I took myself off of coffee, and traded it for Green Tea. *gasp* Please pray for the protection of those around me, as my coffee was the equivalent of a baby's blankie or pacifier ;) In an effort to eat healthier, I am detoxing from all processed foods as well. I am also juicing fresh vegetables and fruits once a day (for lunch) and focus on eating organic, fresh meals. No reason for it really, other than the fact I felt like my body was telling me to do it; almost like it knew something I didn't. I gotta say, I feel great! Now I feel like I should invest in a pair of Birkenstocks.

Because of the healthier eating habits, I served my husband and boys broccoli on Sunday, homemade refried beans on Monday, and egg salad on Tuesday. I found myself hopelessly clinging to Effie's statement, "May the odds ever be in your favor." (for you Hunger Games fans out there)

Does anyone else like the music they play at grocery stores? I always find my self be-bopping from side to side, giving my cart a little shimmy down the aisle. You gotta respect the person who boldly sings along when hearing Bon Jovi in the store. At least that's what I told the guy staring at me.

Speaking of grocery store, why does this conversation always seem to happen, when the cashier sees my last name--

Stranger: "Oh my gosh, are you related to Jean-Claude Van Damme?"
Me: "Um, yeah totally. Not only do we pronounce our names differently, we also spell them differently, so people won't confuse us."
Stranger: "That is so cool! What is he like?"
Me: *shaking my head, as I walk away*

We finally got caught up with Downton Abbey! "I shall phone Pa-pa in the morning to arrange a meeting, my Darling", I said to my husband with a hot cup of tea in my hand. Does anyone else have to continually remind themself that Downton Abbey is not real?

In church they will often say, "Greet someone with a hug." Being a germaphobic, I wonder if I could get people around me to offer up a round of rock, paper, scissors instead. Just a thought.

Now for a moment of silence--This week yet another measuring spoon has fallen victim to the garbage disposal. May it rest in peace.

I too, love Downton Abbey, and often find myself speaking in a muddled British accent for days afterword...
